C.J. Robertson

Founder of Pangea Trading


Founder of Pangea Trading LLC, C.J. Robertson is well seasoned in the areas of organizational design, market research, strategy development and implementation. 


Before his career started, C.J. was deeply involved in sports such as baseball, football, wrestling, and basketball. In his junior and senior years of high school, he was scouted by division one colleges and major league baseball teams for his pitching abilities. At 6 foot 6 inches in height, left handed, and a fastball in the mid 80’s he sparked some attention. After attending one year of college, C.J. put away his baseball glove and went into law enforcement. After a year in law enforcement, C.J. met his wife Monique and was offered an opportunity to take a shot at the tire industry working along side his soon to be father in-law. 

Now with three children and entering a career spanning over 12 years, he has had diverse experience climbing the industry ladder. In 2004 at age 21, C.J. started as a tire salesman and technician. He was promoted early on to store manager, then later climbed into a warehouse manager position for Oxford Treads. After becoming familiar with wholesale operations, C.J. moved into a sales role for domestic and international container and trailer load sales. In 2009, Oxford Treads was acquired by publically traded company, LKQ CORP. This is where C.J. became sales manager for LKQ Tire and Recycling. He continued to work with both purchases and sales on a national and international level. While C.J. was expanding global relationships for LKQ’S import and export markets, he achieved just shy of five million dollars in annual sales between the five wholesale tire locations located in, Sterling, Connecticut; Chicago, IL; Houston, Texas; Tampa, Florida; and Yabucoa, Puerto Rico.


After the close of LKQ’s tire division, C.J. founded Pangea Trading LLC in June of 2015. 

C.J.’s accomplishments are best reflected in how he shows up. He brings a practical, hands-on experience in organizational settings with a talent for listening and hearing what he can do to help each business. He is highly valued for his ability to find exactly what you need and/or find a home for hard to move product. C.J. is sought out for his knowledge in a large variety of products. People see his greatest accomplishment as being who he is, and frequently say that it is his integrity, leadership, and respect that cause them to seek him out.

  • Favorite Hobbies:  Surfing, Virtually all Ocean related activities or water sports, hiking, snowboarding, fishing, cooking, gardening and farming. 
  • Role Models: My Grandfathers – These men had and still have a huge impact on my life and came with so much wisdom.  My wife – If I could be more like her I would probably have my feet in the sand more times than not. 
  • Favorite Word:  Ocean  - The Ocean represents strength yet it can be so meditative and relaxing. The ocean is a paradox, it can be calming and destructive. It is an element that needs to be respected and understood.
  • Favorite Book:  The Giver :by Lois Lowry. I read this book when I was kid and the story still leaves and impression with me.
